What is a locked ECU?
Corrupted software or maps, incorrect checksum, an incompatible operating system, or a failed update of the calibration maps have caused the ECU to no longer function properly, in most circumstances an event like that causes the ECU to fail and can communicate with reprogramming and diagnozis devices. Even with proper ecu opening skills and proper soldering techniques it can happen that an ecu becomes damaged or locked after reprogramming.

EZS REPAIR                                    

After 1990 most Mercedes cars were equipped with the electronic starting system EZS-EIS. It is part of the car's immobilizer system and over the years it has become more and more complicated. Modern Mercedes cars have many electronic modules "locked" to each other, and if one of these modules is removed or replaced with another, the car will not even start.
