This involves overwriting the ecu's default settings with modified software designed to improve the vehicle's overall performance. by reprogramming your car, you get better throttle response, more horsepower, more torque, and improved fuel economy.

WHY DOESN'T THE MANUFACTURER DO IT?
This isn't true, the option was created by vehicle manufacturers, the cars are programmed in such a way that the engine doesn't operate at maximum efficiency. this allows them to release a sporty model with a more efficient engine simply by changing the engine configuration and making modifications to the chassis and vehicle design.

Custom remapping is a specialized process that modifies the engine's control maps. The modification can include various options, such as increased power, reduced fuel consumption, adding or removing components, sport tuning... all depending on the vehicle's intended use.

MAP SENSOR CALIBRATION

These settings allow the engine to operate at much higher turbocharger pressures than normal, in the 3-4 bar range. The MAP sensor should be replaced with one that can operate at this higher pressure. This setting is used when a more aggressive tuning is required such as Stage 2 and Stage 3.


MAF REMOVAL

Deleting the MAF sensor, also called MAF removal or MAF shutdown, is usually required on highly modified vehicles. The reason is that the amount of air passing through the mass air flow sensor reaches the maximum and this degrades the overall performance of the engine...

ANTI LAG

Anti Lag is a system used to eliminate turbo lag. It was originally devised for rally cars to keep a turbo spinning at full boost even at low engine RPM. It means the driver has instant power between gear changes. When a driver takes their foot off the accelerator the engine rpm drops. This means the gas leaving the engine drops and the turbo slows down. It then takes a few seconds for the turbocharger to spool up again when the rally driver puts their foot back on the accelerator. POP AND BANG

It is made by changing the Ignition timing at low rpm of the engine a slight enrichment of the fuel mixture may be added making pops, bangs and flames even more noticeable. This tuning can be made on all types of gasoline and diesel engines. Turbo is not a requirement for pops and bangs the only difference between cars with and without turbo is that turbocharged cars will benefit from the Anti-Lag feature. Many manufacturers offer pop and bang modification as a feature for their sport cars and they come with regular warranty and safety claims. These include some of the most famous brands such as AMG Models - Mercedes Benz, M Models - BMW and RS Models of group VAG.
