STAGE 2

Stage 2 remaps are more effective at improving performance than stage 1 remaps, thanks to their use of hardware and software improvements. Typically, with a stage two performance upgrade there is a sizeable increase in amount of usable power and a significant increase in the performance and drivability of your vehicle.

A stage two performance remap is the perfect upgrade for:
  • Intercoolers
  • Hybrid Turbos
  • Exhausts
  • Downpipes
  • Injectors
Performance Intercoolers
Intercoolers are radiator which cool the air that enters your vehicle’s engine in order to increase engine power. These devices use a basic scientific principle cold air is denser, containing more oxygen per cubic centimeter which makes more powerful combustions to improve engine performance and allow to your engine without generating excess heat.

Air Intake Upgrade
It is imperative to feed your turbocharger with well filtered, cold air so the intercooler doesn’t have to work as hard to cool the heated air passing through to the throttle body.

Improved Exhaust System
Improved exhaust systems come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and purposes, though they are all designed to improve the flow of exhaust out of the engine. The engine can only produce power if it can vent exhaust gases, improving your exhaust system will allow your car to improve exhaust flow and keep up with the increased combustion rates. It is recommended to remove DPF and EGR because of the limitations associated with them. 
А hybrid turbo would increase the gains of this type of remap, also removing the MAF will also contribute to more power the MAF limits the amount of air intake to the engine and thus the turbo pressure is also limited.

Hybrid Turbo
An improved turbocharger can be combined parts of different sizes and models of different manufacturers, such as Garrett or BorgWarner, to make the best turbo.
There are many variants of hybrid turbochargers ranging from turbos with only one component changed or modified to a modification of all components, there are no rules for hybrid turbos it all depends on what you want to achieve

The basic idea is to get more flow from the turbocharger at a given rotor speed… this can be achieved in various ways from larger or more efficient compressor wheels, higher flow compressor,  cut back turbine blades and larger turbine housings etc..
So, more flow means more air, hopefully at a cooler temperature, which you can then add more fuel to and hey presto… more power! Many people including some tuners become obsessed with ‘boost’ whereas the reality of professional tuning is all about flow through the engine.
There is a limit to the intake air and pressure that an engine can "take", after exceeding this limit the life of the engine and turbocharger is limited

Other addons that may be required (vehicle specific).
An upgraded high-pressure fuel pump offers extra fuel to some of the modern-day direct injection engines require for a stage 2 remap. This means you will either need an Auxiliary fuel setup or an upgraded high-pressure fuel pump, which will keep up with fuel demand due to the consumption and allow for a more aggressive boost strategy.

How much HP does a Stage 2 remap add
Around 30-40%
Stage 1 tuning results in an increase of around 20-30% in power and torque in the case of turbo vehicles. With a Stage 2 setup you have a greater level of gain, you can expect another 5-10% increase in power and torque.

Does remapping shorten life of engine
It all depends on the correct software modification and right hardware upgrade. Engine strain from remapped cars with Stage 2 is significantly greater, given the greater speed, power and performance of an engine.
